The Purple Wandering Jew is one of the most dramatically coloured trailing plants available in India — the entire plant is a deep, saturated purple, from stems to leaves. In good light, the colour intensifies to an almost jewel-like tone. It trails quickly and makes a stunning statement in any hanging basket or high shelf.

Care Guide
☀️ Sunlight — Bright indirect to direct light, 3–5 hours. More light = deeper, more vibrant purple. In low light the colour fades to greenish.
💧 Watering — Once every 7–10 days in summer. Every 15–20 days in monsoon.
🌱 Soil — 60% cocopeat + 40% river sand. Slightly moisture-retentive mix is fine for this variety.
🌡️ Temperature — Thrives in 18°C–35°C. Grows rapidly in warm Indian conditions.
✂️ Maintenance tip — Trim leggy stems to keep the colour concentrated at the tips. The trimmings root instantly in water — easiest propagation of any plant we stock.
Each plant is carefully selected and packed with love.

Clear answers for the details people usually want to know before ordering Purple Wandering Jew (Tradescantia pallida) — Deep Purple Trailer.
Yes, Purple Wandering Jew is perfect for hanging baskets indoors in India near a bright window with 3–5 hours of indirect sunlight. The trailing stems look stunning in macramé hangers. Ensure the pot has drainage holes and avoid overwatering.
Purple Wandering Jew grows at a moderate to fast pace in India, especially during October to March. Bright indirect light, occasional watering, and monthly diluted fertilizer during the growing season gives the best results.
Water Purple Wandering Jew once every 7–10 days in summer and every 14–20 days in winter. Let the top 2–3 cm of soil dry between waterings. Yellowing or mushy stems are the first sign of overwatering.
Yes! Take a healthy stem cutting of 8–10 cm, let it dry in shade for 2–3 days to callus, then place in moist well-draining soil. Keep in bright indirect light — roots usually appear within 2–4 weeks in Indian temperatures.
Purple Wandering Jew prefers bright indirect light and tolerates partial shade. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun which scorches leaves. A north or east-facing balcony or a bright indoor spot 1–2 metres from a window works well.
